Quick question, Have connected my Iphone 4 to my 3008 bluetooth that has a connect sound. On the display it shows the Iphone MAC address when playing. Anyone know if this can be edited?

MAC address cant be changed as it is a unique serial to your device.
if you go through settings on your iphone, particulary the bluetooth settings and see if you can change the phone name

Yes, you can give the iphone a device name which will be it's Bluetooth name.

seems like the problem solved. When the iphone was named John's Phone the bluetooth radio displayed the Bluetooth MAC Address. When I removed the apostrophe in Itunes to Johns Phone it displays correctly.
