Default Handbrake Problems

A question for the likes of Dave...

After just over 17k miles the handbrake button on my 3008 has come partially adrift, causing the "your handbrake is ferked mate" message to come up on the OBC. It also means i can't use the handbrake at junctions etc, although parking is not a problem as it automatically engages when the ignition is turned off.

It's going in Tuesday to be fixed under warranty, so no problems, no sweat there, I'm happy with the resolution, hardly worth blinking over. No, what I wanted to know is this an oddity or have you Pug tech boys come across a few of these? Just curious is all.

Cheers,

Chop.
