Driver door rubber
Hi
I noticed my door rubber looking a little worse for wear about two weeks ago with the protective sheen having worn off. I touched it and about six inches of it fell to bits in my hand as though it was an old perished inner tube.
I obviously took it straight into the dealer and they said once the protective sheen wears off air gets in and does perish it. The dealer would do nothing under warranty so it cost me £28 for a new one. At the time I wasn't happy but soon realised it was me that caused it when getting in if there was a car parked too close to me, my trouser back pocket button was catching on the rubber exactly where the old rubber had perished so be very careful when getting in if someone has parked close to you.
