Default Does yours wander.

Been up and down the M3 lately and have noticed the car tries to wander, am forever having to correct the steering to try and keep a straight line, after a while it gets tiring. Is this something that's common to these cars?

Nor mine. The geometry is set up perfectly, and with a light touch on the wheel it gently follows the camber. Spot on.

Check your tyre pressures.

Thanks chopper for the reply, will check them, although they look ok, plus although it should be ok think i'll pop along to a tyre place and have the tracking checked.
Just wanted to get another users confirmation that they don't wander under normal operation before i go on to the next step.

Steer clear of tyre joints - You want a full 4 wheel alignment check.

Once the tyre pressures are set, and provided the tyres are not more than half worn, it should follow the camber, so on UK roads it will have a gentle tendency to drift left most of the time (or right when overtaking etc).

It's rare that wheel alignment issues cause this problem, despite what the olds waffle on about tracking and timing being the source of all ill.

Totally agree with you chopper, the car has only done 998 miles since it came out of the factory, never had this problem with my old car, it drove like on rails.

The local places around here use the 4 wheel jobbies for tracking, IE things bolted onto each rim, yes the tracking should be ok but if I have to hassle the dealer about this at least that can be ruled out.

Thanks mate

Steve

PS I could come under your "oldie that waffle" you will get there one day!
