3008 1.6 hdi sport 2010 16k
Over the last week I have noticed a hot coolant smell after after a few miles to go with this the coolant level has been dropping. I couldn't see any leaks or any sign on the ground so I took it in today so the dealer could take a look. Turns out there are two pinprick holes in the radiator and a new rad has been ordered under warranty. It seems the front end of the car has to be dismantled to change the rad. Perhaps I should have got a Triumph Herald where you could actually stand in the engine bay to change the rad Still love the 3008 though

Bloody hell! Still, aty least it's getting sorted.
Do they reckon the rad was faulty, or has suffered damage from road debris?

The rad has now been changed and all working correctly.
![]() It turned out not to be two pin prick holes but a small split in a seam of the rad. The coolant was spraying out in two slightly different directions making it look like two holes. Very pleased with the outcome and the car washed as well

are these 3008 as unreliable as they seem, i know i'm gonna get shot down for asking this (chopper) but they seem very new to be having some quite major issues

As you know my 1st was appalling - enough faults for 5 cars
![]() My 2nd has been spot on ![]() General feedback amongst the various places I visit, clubs for which I moderate etc, is that it's one of the better models - not without fault, but nothing majorly recurring, and much better than other current models such as the 207 Time will be the true test I guess.

My last car a Vectra had the grille fall off as I left the showroom and another one was pinched from another new car. Three days later the 'new' grille fell off and I ran over it! Next thing was a very noisy clutch which needed replacing and then a paint problem...........all in the first six months All cars have their problems but I know I wouldn't change this one as it's spot on for ride, comfort and mpg. Having said that I don't want anymore problems

There are 11 on the club for which I am a registrar, and I'm the only one who's had any problems at all, and that was on my previous car, and even my horrifyingly faulty one was replaced with little ado (except for the DVLA getting confused about a cherished transfer from a 3008 to a 3008, and delaying an otherwise smooth swap by 5 weeks!). Once it was acknowledged by the dealer that the car was a lemon, the dash to put me in a new car would've made and manufacturer proud. That is the ultimate reassurance.
The current one is fine, settling down very nicely indeed. I'm looking forward to see what the Hybrid 4 will be like, especially as most of the extra mechanical/electrical bits are Ger-her-man! I think time will be the true test, on what is quite a complex car - how do they handle the mileage, what do they survive like once they're being serviced by back street greasers and home bodgers? This will be the real measure.
