3008 USB connection in Centre Consol?

Can anyone tell me if the USB connection should also be able to recharge/Charge the Mobile phone when connected. It appears not to be able to do that but is this something I need to understand (Ie should the Radio be off ?)

Another point Does anyone know if there is a update to the Radio to enable Blue Tooth to work fully with the Android Phones? At present the Directory/Contacts and Calls list do not show

Just heard from the Main Stealers that the USB port is not powered so it cannot be used for recharging.!!

Just had another call from the Main Stealers and they have researched further and tested on a demonstrator and the Port is in fact charged and can be used to charge a Phone etc. It may not be as quick as a Mains charger but it does work.

i was going to say. usb always power at 5volts DC to power the device.

if your phone is not charging maybe its not strong enough and will need a 12v input. check the input power of your phone.

If the phone has a USB style charger, then it must be able to charge from 5v USB sockets. As you say youself, USB power is always 5v.

All modern phones can charge from USB.

I have a 10 Reg Exclusive from new and I use an Android phone - HTC Desire. My contacts sync fine on Bluetooth. The calls list does only show calls made from the car, not any made by the phone away from the car.

My phone is the Samsung Galaxy sII which operates (supposedly) the same OS (Gingerbread - v2.3.5) but the Contacts and the calls list do not sync.
My old Samsungs D900 and G600 worked perfect.
Obviously more research required!! (Any clues about the settings used on your phone?)
Very soon the OS will be updated to the Android 4.0 "Ice Cream Sandwich. system so we will probably be off again.
The Main stealers did say that they get updates of the systems on what seems a regular basis so have you had your car software updated? I assumed because ours is only 8weeks old that it was up to date!!!
