Default 3008 thule roof bars....... and box

hi,

had a set of these and a roof box for my 406 so ordered the bars for the 3008 and ive just seen that it says 'roof boxes' wont fit?!?!

...few hours before i get home yet but does anyone know the distance between the 2 roof mount points im itching to find out wtf is going on the box manual says it do 575mm min and 975mm max.

(yes, i know there is a huuuuuge boot but doing a long trek/camp across france soon - plus it means that the box wasnt redundant.... or so i thought :-?)

I've never bothered with Thule, as I've found them often more expensive than genuine Pug kit, which fits equally well and looks nicer.

well I got the Thule one on there and reckon the box will fit despite what they say - although if I ever did put it on I reckon I'd struggle with most height barriers lol

I had Thule bars on my last car and every now and then at speed you'd get a whistling wind noise (mostly if it was wet) so figured if that was a company specialising in bars then the standard pug ones would probably be less sophisticated and be even louder.

The official pug ones are brilliant on virtually every model. sure, the Thule are decent and work very well, but they don't work any better than the pug ones and they look bitty.

The pug ones also have the industry standard slot down da middle for mounting bike racks, boxes etc without having to resort to tacky looking clamps etc.
