Default 3008 semi or fully syn?

Hi

When I bought the 3008 hdi in November last year she was due her first service due to mileage. After she was serviced I asked for litre of the same oil so I could keep it for when required. They sold me a litre of semi syn and I assumed that this was correct.

Due to covering quite a few thousand more miles since I bought her I have booked it in for an oil and filter change just to be on the safe side. They have now told me the oil in a hdi must be fully syn and not semi so which is correct?

I need to know so I can ask them what they are playing at either way It is a main dealer by the way not a car sales or another manufacturers dealer.

Anyone help?

Thanks

I'm assuming it's the more common 1.6 HDi, in which case it is critical that 5w/30 fully synth s used. These motors are very sensitive to the correct oil and having it changed on time.

Thanks for that, I can't look in the manual as I don't have the car at the moment as it's in the dealers having a new radiator fitted

ah right fair enough if you go to halfords website, oil section. put your reg in, it will give you the recommended grade ie 5w-30 and whether or not fully syn, semi or mineral (doubt the last )

If you go to the Peugeot main website, you can register for "My Peugeot" and check the user manual online.

An update on my op. The oil is fully syn and not semi, I was sold the wrong oil by them when I asked for a top up litre should I need it which I haven't.

They apologised and changed the litre of oil for me and did the oil filter change for a very knockdown price
