Default 3008 Auto lurch?

I'm curious to know if any other users have experienced a problem with automatic box on the 163bhp diesel engine? If so, is there a fix? My father recently purchased one and didn't pick up on the problem initially. However, having owned it a few days he's noticed a significant drop in revs between gears which causes the car to lurch. The rate of acceleration appears to make no difference. I drove it yesterday to feel for myself and I was shocked at how bad it is, bordering on the dangerous at junctions. Keen to hear if anyone else has experienced this and whether there is a solution.

Cheers,

you should have warranty on the vehicle...i would take it back and let them diagnose and fix the fault...take them on the run so they know what you are explaining as they will go "there is nothing wrong" if not.

Translation - thrashed by all and sundry!

The box is an MMT, not a true auto, and it drops the revs on the changes to protect the box. Older pug MMT set ups relied on the driver backing off between revs, as you would with a fully manual box, but people didn't and were larruping the clutches.

However, it shouldn't be causing problems and making it jerky. Take it back, t'is why it has a warranty.
