I'd advise anyone currently serving in the armed forces or forces veterans to check out the Defence Discount Scheme.

I got a substantial discount using the scheme I've ordered a 2.0 150 GT line in Sunset Copper with Focal sound, Grip Control, Electric Tailgate, Roof Bars and Visio Park 2. List price was just shy of 32k and the invoice price including delivery and road fund licence was 23,230, plus a fiver to sign up for the discount scheme

You are spot on with your advice Norseman. My hubby has recently received a 9000 discount off his brand new, all singing, all dancing 34000 car, courtesy of the Defence Discount Scheme.

Ex-RAF 19 years service but was medically discharged in the 90's after a serious spinal injury. I thought I'd mention the scheme because I'd only just found out about it myself.

Worth getting - lots of other discounts too. A relative gets increased on board spend on P&O cruises. There is a page on the gov website where you can find out which businesses have signed and what they offerhtthttps://www.gov.uk/government/pub...s-covenantp://

Yes as each card holder can get the car discount on 2 cars in a 12 month period providing it a family member.

Do you know I am amazed I didn't anything know about this. Well worth remembering if only for the fact the next time I may not use Motability.

I take it that there is a government component to the discount in which case is there a backdating provision I wonder.
