Default ticking noise when cold

Need a bit of help with this one.

Basically, when i start the car and it has been cold overnight i get a ticking noise from the off side of the engine. It is intermittent and not a continuous tick and goes after a minute or so-quicker if i put a little load on the engine.
I have recently had my cambelt and tensioners done due to an annoying squeek but this has me stumped.
Bottom pully or aux belt tensioner maybe?
It sounds a bit like the noise you get when you turn the aircon on and you here the clutch engauge.
I am having trouble pin pointing it as it does not happen all the time although ideally i would like to have the front wheel and liner off when i start it up so i could figure it out!

When the car is running press down on the belt tensioner to see if noise goes away , please be careful of your little pinkies.

update-it does not appear to have a tensioner. did this get done away with and the use of stretchy type belts take over?
Also my pulley has only one bolt through the middle-have these been known to cause this intermittent type problem? i have included a couple of pics of the type set up i appear to have on my 110 1.6 207 hdi.
Just a thought but could i run the car with the aux belt off for 10 mins-if the noise doesnt happen then it must be in that system. If it is still there then i can take it back to the garage that did the cambelt and water pump and throw it in their court.

I know in my old 307 you could run it without belt as this was just for the alternator so don`t see why not , will rule it out if so.

Another question for you lot-does the crankshaft key (item 70) hold the timing pinion in the correct position? I ask as if i lock the flywheel to enable me to get the centre bolt out, then the timing should remain untouched????? or am i missing something?
