Default Sorry Ive been so stupid

Hello,
I am new to this forum as im desperately looking for some help and advice. I did a very blonde thing and filled my diesel 207 up with unleaded and then drove it without realising.
Its a 207 1.6 HDI sport 56 plate.
I have had all the unleaded syphoned off and have put 10 litres of diesel in it but the battery light is flashing and the car is in economy mode. does anyone have any ideas how i can get it started please?
there is no fuel coming through the fuel lines, or the filter at the moment.
Ive had a friend take a quick look at it and he tried jump strating it but no luck. he thinking it could be the pump in the fuel tank??!!! is this a possibility?
any ideas much appreciated - thank you xx

Put more than ten litre into the tank. Pump the priming bulb under the plastic engine cover. keep pumping it till it is hard.
Renew the fuel filter also.

Have you any other friends that are Mechanic`s? You`ll need a professional to drain right and change filters.

glad to hear you got it sorted...just out of curiosity how much fuel did you put in i.e how much was left to how much u filled to? and how far did you drive?

ive heard diesels can survive on a small amount petrol but it doesnt do the seals any good.

Sounds like a lucky escape, I thought petrol in an HDi engine could f**k it badly :ie damaged injectors, fuel pump.

I would have thought it would be ok as diesel oil would be the bottom of the tank petrol would have been on top so it would have had some diesel in and only really drawed diesel through.

Well i was wrong lol

Here is a link that will explain petrol in diesel .

Did you only pump the fuel through or did you change the filter like advised?
