Default Peugeot 207 gets extra verve

  • 207 Verve gets two new engines
  • Three new colours also available
  • Prices start at £12,331

Peugeot is making its 207 Verve available with two new engines and three new colours next year.

The new paint colours – Aluminium, Shark Grey and Moroccan Red – join the current Flamenco Red and Onyx Black.

New engines
The car will also come with 1.4 VTi petrol and 1.6 HDi diesel engines, as well as the existing 1.4-litre petrol and diesel engines.

Both new versions of the car hit 60mph in less than 13 seconds, and the new 94bhp petrol engine averages 47.8mpg and emits 140g/km CO2 – better than the existing 74bhp unit.

The diesel, meanwhile, averages 64.2mpg and emits just 117g/km of CO2, meaning an annual road tax bill of just £35.

Equipment and prices
As before, the Verve is available in both three- and five-door bodies, with standard equipment including driver, passenger and side airbags, remote central locking, a CD player and alloy wheels.

It also has Peugeot’s Connect USB Bluetooth system that allows a phone or MP3 player to be connected to the car and operated through the steering wheel-mounted controls.

Prices for the Verve range start at £12,331, with the new petrol model costing from £12,772 and the diesel £13,895.

Spec for spec it's worse value than most of the 207 range. Avoid is my advice.

What's the pint of alloys if you've got manky grey plastic strips detracting from the cars looks, or the higher spec RD4 if it only has 2 speakers.

They should've called it The Emperers New Clothes.
