Default Opinions Needed

Hi All,

Parents right on the edge of picking up a brand new 207 verve (1.4 hdi 70)

Looking for opinions/info if possible

MPG/road tax/what to look out for etc etc

Not too fussed on performance, moving up from a xsara 1.9 diesel (66bhp) so i dont think they mind about that!

Also what prices can the stealers let these go for (with scrappage)

Any info greatly appreciated!

Rich

You should be able to negotiate at least 25% off a new 207. I argued 35% off mine, and traded it in a year on against the 407 for only £100 less than I'd paid. The blooming thing ended up on the forecout costing more 2nd hand than it had cost me new. Same goes for the 107 and 407, and you should still be able to crack 15% off a 308. Call my mate Martin Shurmer at Perrys in Blackburn. Tell him "Rich Slag" (it's an in joke) sent you. He did me over 25% off both my my 107s. He also gave me the 35% off quote on the 207, which Perrys in Milton Keynes then bettered, leaving them less than £100 profit in the sale. Sure, Blackburn may be a long way, but a day trip is surely worth the £3k+ saving. Good luck. PS-tell them to go for the 1.6 90 HDi. It's a much quieter, more refined unit and doesn't't have a FAP to go wrong.

Cheers chopper, much appreciated

I think i was a bit late as they've ordered the 1.4, they seems quite happy with it though!

Do you by any chance know if the 1.4 has FAP, i assume if the 1.6 doesnt then this wont either?

dunno for sure mate, but Sweatybollarks might know as it's essentially the same unit in the 307. It's coarse, but surprisingly ballsy for a small bore.

£35 road tax is a winner as well!

They do a Blue Lion bolloxy version of the 1.6 which qualifies for free road tax. You know the sort of thing, no equipment at all to keep weight down, bicycle tyres, the smallest mirrors they can legally fit.

1.4 hdi does not have FAP. 1.6 does in 110bhp guise.
