Help!! advice please

I have a 56 plate 207 (new to me) and the spare key doesn't seem to be working, the remote locking doesn't work but does unlock when I use it as a proper key, then when I try to turn the ignition it doesn't catch and the display message comes up 'anti theft active'. What is this and how do I fix it?! Will it be fixed with new batteries?! Rx

I would try to get it programmed from someone with Planet first, Does it not start the car?

nope, it just turns the engine over and it doesnt catch if you know what I mean?! Rx
