Post Diagnostic Tool Help!!!

Hi i recently went to visit a member from here to enable the cd changer slot on my 207 throught peugeot planet. however everytime we tried to connect it up it kept saying it could not read the ECU then we manually put in the VIN number and it still kept saying that. however a week before that The AA put in thier diagnostic machine which read the fault codes easily and im assuming in order for it to do that it needs to read the ecu too. i have checked the fuse for the diagnostic port and the fuse is fine. what could be wrong with it? has this happened to anyone else?

Thanks

Nabeel

Could you not read anything at all? Did you get the screen come up with car details and VIN on before entering PP2000?

To say it can't read the ECU doesn't seem right..... there are multiple ECUs, OK might not read one if its failed, but you should still get in to most of them.

Hi it was me he came to see
we plugged it in and got nothing no Vin nothing at all
entered Vin manually and did a global scan
every ecu failed to respond
then plugged it in to my car to check if its pp or lap top everything worked fine
back to his still the same nothing nada zilch tried several times all the same car would not talk to pp (just like the wife when she is upset only worse)

It couldnt read none of them at all even when full diagnostic was run it didnt read any of them which is very weird. tbh im not familiar with the pp software but when connected to the computer it asked what car it was which then we clicked on 207 and then it came up with three options either a 207 can, 207i and finally a 207 van which we clicked on 207 can it then i think was searching for the car which it says ecu can not be read and then asked to pop in vin number and still did not recognise the vehicle. its very strange isnt it? any more ideas?

Thanks

Obviously PP isn't seeing the car at all, let alone the ECUs because it shouldn't ask to put the VIN in, it normally tells you what the VIN is and basic car details before you even get to PP. Did you read the descriptions for the 3 207 options and then select the right one, or took a chance? Don't have enough experience myself to help any further, especially as the PP works on another car, and the AA worked with yours
