Please can anyone help me with my car...I am in an impossible situation. I have a 2006 207 1.4. A month ago the car flashed up the normal 207 fault...pollution, abs and power steering fault. I took it to my garage who replaced oil, brake fluid and pollution filter etc for 300 euros and the fault cleared for about a month. Now the warnings have returned again, the power steering has stopped working and the speedo has stopped. Temp guage and rev counter still work!!. The garage man says that the wiring is all shorting out and I need a complete new fuse sytem etc which he says will cost about 950 euros. he has told me the car is very dangerous to drive and I should not use it. Trouble is I am not sure if he is taking advantage because I am an english woman in Spain who doesn`t speak the language. I am only keeping the car for another four weeks and dont know what to do. Please forgive the very non technical question..looking for a knight in shining armour to tell me what the best thing is to do.!!

for four weeks it probably wont be worth fixing unless you are selling it...if your taking it to a dealer for part ex...play ignorant
what i would say is to get it hooked up at a peugeot dealer (as no holders that i know of in spain) they are far better than any other garage.
