Default BSI problems

hi, am new to this site so hello to everyone, i have a 207 1600cc diesel the year of manufacture is 2007. every warning light possible is on but the car runs great, i have done a little research and it sounds like the BSI unit (wow sounds expensive) where is this unit located and if i have if i buy a new or recon unit is it just a matter of refitting it , i keep reading that only the main dealer can do this work but i dont believe that for one moment, it seems quite a common fault but i cannot to find a straight answer to this problem so i was hoping and praying that somebody could help me. the main dealers agree with me about this and it will cost me over £500 to repair with only about £100 pounds in labour which suggests to me the unit is easily removed and fitted and reconfigured, thanks for reading..kind regards vinny.

when you get a new BSI or your current fixed. it will need to be reprogrammed to your car specifications, such as optional extras you have fitted etc and more important things...this is done by using a tool called Peugeot Planet, it is the tool that peugeot dealers will use, some hobbyists or person who wants to save money will have one of these (can pick it up of ebay for about £130)

i think there is a website bba-raman or something, they offer an exchange thing, you send in yours with a little cash, they send a refurbed unit out to you. not too sure tho.

i'm not sure of the location, but at a guess, it will be under the fuse box in the engine bay or behind the other fusebox in the glove...will make sense keeping all electrical together close together.

hope this helps

Have you tried at very least having the car put on diagnostics to confirm this?

Its a big spend to be making on the strength of guesswork!!
