hi i am new on here hope someone can give some advice,
my daughter as a 207 56 reg it drives absolutly great no problems, " the problem is when you start the car it ticks over great, but as soon as you put the clutch in and put foot on exelerater engine seems to make a fluctuating ( as if the revs are fluctuating , then when u take foot of the exellerater they stop again ? the clutch is fine no problems there ( could it be some sort of valve, sensor, how can we determin what it is without costly expense of replacing things that it may not be ... before we found out what it actually is thanks |

Hi, I have a 56 plated 207 aswell and mine does the exact same thing, drives perfectly, and revs never fluctuate at any other time, it just seems to be when your pulling off when your clutch is down. Im guessin its a common problem or its just how they are

Hmmm so different engines same 'problem' thatd suggest theres a higher chance theyre just meant to be like that. I notice mine does it more when its still warming up.

There should be a software update for this. Also a reinitilization of auto adaptives. The dealer will know.

so this morning i started her car and let it tick over but NO light came on ata all and i let it tick over for approx a good 5-6 mins, so i turned it off. She went to work and she said the same thing happened after about 5 mins of driving the light came on and stayed on again she just text me to tell me this ( so it seems to only come on after been driving a few minutes ) Now i know the usual thing would indicate a alternator but how can i check this myself to see if it is charging is there a way i can do this for her without going to garage and them charging us to check the alternatr is charging ok or not ? thanks in adavnce..... just got text apparently battery light never came on untill wipers were turned on and heater as it was throwing it down so seems now light is only coming on when i,e wipers/heater is in use i,e extra power being used ????? sporty hi, to check alternatorn you need a multimeter if you havent got one they are only £8 or so for a basic one. bridge the battery with one probe on each terminal take a reading, should be 12.5-12.8 volts, now get someone to start engine and now you should be reading 13.5-14.5 volts if so alternator is fine if voltage barely rises with enginme running alternator is naff. good luck.
ps is belt tight? Last edited by sterion75; 01-27-2012 at 09:34 PM. Reason: ps |
