Hi all,
A little help please. I'm not sure about the alarm on my 207. I've read through the manual, however my 207 doesn't have the alarm button on my dash, just the 'lock' button. I bought the car that was advertised with an alarm, however I've tried to set the alarm off but it doesn't seem to. Can anyone shed some light on this matter? I've looked on the Peugeot website and they're advertising an alarm for £350 ish. Thanks all Richard |

It almost certainly doesn't have one.

Well, assuming it does not have one (only GT, GTi and SE had them as standard), then the Sale of Goods Act gives 3 options...
Your money back in full. Another car of the correct spec. Or they take your car and fit an alarm. The Act gives you a duty to allow the seller a reasonable opportunity to address the problem, so they get first dibs on what to do first. Only if they persistently fail to address the problem do you get to insist on dosh back. If your car does have an alarm, it automatically sets when you lock the car with the remote.

i know when i worked for a large electrical store, they keep all press released offers on a database, so when we got people coming in saying they seen an ad, we asked where and look it up to see its valid, some people had a good go though of forged offers, bringing in seemingly official leaflets and demanding offers but like i say it was all on a database. dont know if this is the same for car dealers etc, but what im trying to say is they might know and have it on file somewhere

If its fitted by a suitably certified pug techie (and make sure the invoice refects that it was) then the pug system is Thatcham I approved. Fitted by anyone else than it carries no Thatcham certification.
You'd be had pushed to get a decent Thatcham I alarm fitted at an independant for a great deal less. What has the supplier said about it?
