Default 207 1.6 hdi remote battery flat

Hello, please can someone help?

When I turn the key in ignition, the warning display states that the "remote battery flat", I've replaced the 'remote battery' and it's still gives the warning?!

What do I do?

Thanks

i had a battery draining issiuse with mine , evern thow the buttons pressed/clicked , my fob battery was dead following day,one was sticking very easy to test via muiltmetre ,
remove curcit board from inside ,
get a muiltimeter on diode check
, one wire on each of the 2 terminals (can upload a pic if needed)

, and shouldnt show anything until u press a button ,will then show a resistance , try this which each button,,,,if u get a valve show with no buttons pressed then one is usely buggard
,
once replaced i replaced code (thanks to betty) changed battery been fine for a few days now

Thanks very much powernuts. Hopefully it will not 'play up' anymore, but at least I'll know what to do now!

it wont be anything to do with this theard im affraid , sounds more of a faulty lcd disply , depending how carefull you are firstly check no rear mounting screws/fixing/contections, ive come lose causeing bad contacts on the rear of the disply panel,
if not you 2 choices , buy another,(local autobreakers)and replace it.
or strip it carefully and genterly wipe the curcit board contacts with achol based purfum (clean board only , not the rubber strip which makes a contact threw it) once wiped and its clean wait a few mins for the achol based liquid to dispurses then rebuild and try it worked on mine ,(as mine was faulty more in a morning when my car was cold .once warmed it slightly improved
do this at ur own risk, ps this works well on tv remotes as well
