Default 205/55 R16 tyres on 16" 207 wheels?

Just wondering if anyone has already done this?

My 207 currently has factory fitted 195/55 R16 tyres on factory 16 alloy wheels which I believe have 6J rims.
Can I fit 205/55 R16's instead?

I know the slightly larger diameter will make the speedo under-read - but only by about 1.7% i.e. 70mph on speedo equates to 71.3 mph (or it would do if the speedo did not already over-read already - Peugeot 'safety' feature?)

Would the very slightly wider tyres rub on the body perhaps?

The reason I ask is, oddly, 205's are a LOT cheaper than the exact equivalent 195's! Around 30% cheaper in some places - perhaps 195/55's are not common enough to attract a discount!

Also I noticed Planet has a setting called '205/55 R16' - to adjust the speedo perhaps for someone like me?

I have 225/55 in front on my 407, whereas factory fitted are 215/55. no problems whatsoever so far.

Try it, and compare your speed on gps. I noticed my 407 is off by 4km anyway. showing 70, going 66 etc.

My 308 has 205/55/16's fitted as standard, so those size tyres should fit on your alloys.
As for them fitting a 207, sorry mate, can't answer that.
