Default Temperature gauge shoot up to red on motorway

Most of the time I used it for short journey ~30 mph and normally less than an hour drive.

On 22nd I drove it on M1 @ around 55 mph and the temp start fly to red zone and flashing stop after about 20 miles. I called in the breakdown recovery and fix it in London, the mechanics said its a faulty sensor, he also flush the while cooling system and refill with water and antifreezes

Same night started to travel again and the same thing happens again, the roadside breakdown said everything seems fine and suggest me to finish my journey, so I took his advise and finish the journey with the flashing stop light.

Then I took my car to halfords in Sheffield. He said I need a new radiator and do a proper flushing in the cooling system which will cause me another 200 quid, I sent £75 in London already and seems different people tell me different stories, I desperately need some advice. Thanks

I'd trust halfrauds as much for car advice as i'd trust a plumber to do a vasectomy.
Temp sender would be the first thing to change, simple 5 min job and relatively cheap (change out of £20).
Once this is done, then if you get the same results it may be something more serious

Well if the radiator is leaking, then you need one. As regards a flush, theres no need if the water in it is clean. They are only trying to sell you products and services that you don't necessarily need.
