Default SW heated rear window problems

I have just noticed that not all of the cross wires in the heated rear window are working any more.

There do not appear to be any breaks in the elements or scratches on the surface, so does anyone know what the problem could be or how to repair it?

Other than that does anyone know what a new rear screen would cost?

Check the fuse 10, read arrow pointing to it on the pic. As for repair, check the whole heating mesh and see if there are any gaps in it or anything like that, its easy to repair, just jump to local car repair shop and they will have this glue type kit for window heater repairs.

And if nothing works, ebay lists rear windows pretty cheap in france.

Is the heated rear window working at all???or is it just a couple of the horizontal 'elements' not working??

Check the black conductive paint around inside of window for damage etc as thats where the rear screen and rear wiper draw power from

Just as soon as I have sobered up I will haul 'Pierre' out of the garage and give the element area a very close look for any breaks/scratches.

Yes; some of the heating element is working, i.e. the very top and the very bottom but the entire central section is not.

Good motorfactors in France are about as rare as hens teeth, I kid you not and as for the price of the spare parts yeeeeeeeeeee which is why I buy all of my spare parts from either the UK or Austria.
