What's the mileage and it is a diesel?

I think every Pug diesel I've owned has had a bit of oily residue in the air pipes, from the way its connected through the crankcase breather pipe?

Its a 1.4ltr petrol with :S 105444 mile on the clock :S lol

just had the cambelt done though. But yeah ive read in other places it could be the smaller breather pipe which connects to the larger intake pipe. just worried incase it could be a bad sign for something?

Going on the mileage I'd say this is nothing to worry about.

Whip all the pipes off and give them a good soaking with maintenance spray, then push a lint free cloth through to pick up the residue.

Make sure they're completely dry before reattaching.

Now if the residue returns after a week, then worry!

Cheers David that was the technical term I was after. You'll notice it sits at the bottom of the pipes. That's where it falls and settles when the engine and air cools (especially considering some of the pipes are ridged)
