Question New here and flummoxed!!

Hi, Got a 206 HDi which I've (touch wood) hardly had any problems with...

Until today....

My lights won't turn off....its draining the battery and had to get 4 men to push me back out of my parking space and help me bump it off this afternoon...mortifying!!

Been thro the manual....tried everything I can think of....plus looked at fuses to see if was a fuse problem, but there doesn't seem to be a fuse for the front lights...think they're controlled by TRIP computer??

Anyone any ideas how to remedy this?? Many thanks

Kind Regards

Hiya,

What does that mean to a non-technical person such as myself and how do I remedy it? Does it need to go to garage or can I do it myself?

Regards

basically the unit behind your steering wheel, where all the stalks connect go to...is bust.

this is a garage job if you not technical. it includes removing the airbag and steering wheel.

well you can pick up the part, depending on your current features from £70 and i would ring around for a garage to do the work possibly £30.

by features i mean; auto-lights, trip computer, auto-wipers etc

If it was me , i would carefully remove the end of the light stalk and put it back together , since the unit is flucked whats the harm , but as i said if it was me ,do so at your own risk , but i have done this on a 206 stalk before , you don`t need to remove steering wheel for this fix , it is the last inch or so on the light stalk where the problem is , it is tricky and fiddley but is possible, but you could end up with no lights at all and then need a new unit.
