first of all...what is the proper name for it?
second of all does anyone know any good wreckers in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne (preferably) or somewhere i could get some non genuine parts. don't feel like paying with my good left toe for a bit of steel the size of my finger as this is not the first time its happened. cheers guys |

It's called a 'check-strap' I would buy a new one to be fair. On the 206 when it fails , if it comes out the door get's a crease , then you have a body repair bill to pay for then!

yea sounds right... there's already a crease...i'll have to get it off asap before it gets any worse...could have already been there from the last time...anyone know how much they cost and or where i can get one cheap? i can see this being a regular thing...or i might try making a few modifications to the part...either way i'd rather cheap ones to bend into place in case they break

In the UK they are around the £15 - £25 mark. It's a common fail and the tell tale crease on the door !
