Right, I've posted on here a couple of times, but now i want to know if anyone else has the same problems as have now reared their butt-ugly heads, what they did to fix and also what the 'norm' is!
I have a 2003 206 LX 1.1 Petrol, with 46,000 miles on the clock, and these are the questions! Firstly, when the engine is cold, there is an odd metallic rattle which is quiet and intermittent when idling, but louder and stronger on pull off if you don't have quite enough revs. Once the engine is warm it goes away unless you do a really crap job of pulling off..... Secondly, and it may well be linked, but there is a strange rattle/knock that comes through the steering wheel on full lock. There is no play in the steering wheel at that point, just an odd sensation. Thirdly, how much do you normally get to a tank? I've just done 374 to the point where the low fuel level comes on, but not sure how much you normally get to the 'reserve', or how many litres are left at that point. Also, really basic question, but I have absolutley no idea and this seems like a logical place to ask; whats the best oil for these cars? I think that's everything.....certainly for now anyway..... Cheers! Matt
