Hi all,
These forums have been a great resource to me in my brief 206 ownership - thank you very much for the information! Whilst diagnosing an over-fuelling problem with my 206 (101 miles to 14.47 Litres for a 1.1 seems rather excessive to me), I have managed to find some Reported Faults on the ECU via Peugeot Planet. The trouble is, I don't exactly know what they mean and if they are related to my over-fuelling problem. I'm wondering if anyone here could spare the time and help me? Thank you! FAULTS
Now, I'm guessing that the MAP being stuck in 'circuit open' isn't doing me any favours, but could this be the cause of the over-fuelling? What about the other reported faults? I have recently sold a Seat Leon Cupra 1.8 20v Turbo and that was costing me £20 (14.47 Litres) to every 90-100 miles (depending on right foot). I imagined that a 1.1 would get me to at least 150 miles on £20? Or am I being overly optimistic? Anyway, love the car so far. Bit of a drastic change I must admit. But, needs must. Appreciate any help

After only managing 38.8 miles on £10, I decided to remove the MAP Sensor.
I expected the Engine Management Light to come on and possibly Idle to become rough - neither of which happened. Since I had the MAP Sensor off I decided to give it a clean with some contact spray, the yellow plug was slightly discoloured - I wiped the faults and tried again. The intermittent fault has come back on the Fault Readings. I haven't had a chance to check yet, but I'm going to guess that the spark plugs are also going to be fouled due to the richness of the fuel/air mixture caused by the faulty sensor readings? Has anyone had experience with the MAP Sensor and its effects on the engine if removed? |
