Default engine temps

I have a funny feeling that the thermostat is stuck open on my car.

I've got a 206 2.0 HDI

does anyone know what temp the thermostat should open at?

and anyone else with the same car, (or same engine in different cars) what temp do you regularly run at? (according to the dash).

(just so I can get an idea of whether I'm worrying over nothing)

Most pug thermostats open at around 78 degrees from memory, running temp of a 2.0 hdi is usually around 80-90 degrees

The coolant temp sensor give a bit of trouble on these. Get a diag check done to prove.

are you sure? My mrs car (207) has water temp as it's own little dial and oil temp on the bottom of the rev dial. perhaps it's a newer reversion and they stuck that on?

I've looked at it in planet and no errors are given, the dial test shows that the needle can move to all extents of the dial (so it's not loose).

basically I was just concerned that my water temp never seems to go above 75 degrees, I can be stuck in slow moving traffic for an hour, driving along, no matter what I'm doing it never seems to climb.

defo - if its the same layout on the dash. the engine temp below the rev counter is always bang on 80 degrees. the other guage next to the speedo nearly always on 90. I pretty much bomb up and down the M62 all week so different driving conditions but once I get going and engine heated it these temps are very consistant.
