Hi - I'm new to all this but wondered if there is anything I can check myself before sending the car to the garage. It is a 2004 HDI 2.0. The light came on a few months ago but the car has been running fine until recently. Since the weather got cold it takes a few attempts to start which is a bit worrying, I thought it was just the cold weather but as today was a bit warmer I'm now not sure... The only other thing is that I think it is a bit slower than when I first bought it a year ago, seems to take longer for the turbo to kick in, and when it does it doesn't seem to have the same 'kick' it once had. Its coming up due for a service anyway, but anything I can check myself would be good, it had its filters all replaced at its last service. I didnt want to leave it to get checked but was told by the garage that if it was running fine and oil etc was ok then I should leave it until the service! Thanks

Hiya mate, where are you from? and what have you tried already if anything? had the same issue with mine, turned out to be the battery. take it to a good autospares shop or garage who can test the battery whist the car is being started - might not have enough power to start after nights rest.
regards. |
