Talking Diagnostic error code P1447

Driving back from Newquay recently the engine management system informed me the car has got an antipollution filter fault and went into limp mode. After a diagnostic check the codes came back as P0470, P0420and P1447 been told that P1447 was the major one and this relates to part filter been clogged? But I called my local Peugeot dealer and they said it could be the differential pressure sensor?

Im hoping its the latter as Ive been informed the filter could be £700 to replace!! The vehicle is an 06 plate with only 43k miles is this usual for a car with so few miles to encounter such a problem??

Does anybody have any ideas or tips of what I can do please? Im reluctant to take it to the Peugeot dealer as they want to charge me £65 for another diagnostic check even tho Ive given them the codes that Ive been given by a local garage.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hello

I do not think it could be filter blocked at that mileage but you really need to do a diagnostics on planet i am presuming you are newquay cornwall if so try and contact jm kent on here he will point you in right direction and i do think he has planet he is based in cornwall and can help you .

Your differential pressure sensor pipes might be blocked up .

Cheers Nige, its re-assuring to hear it might not be the filter. I live in North Yorks I was on my way back from Newquay after a weeks holiday so I could do without a great expense. Thanks for the info I've bit the bullet and booked it in with a local Peugeot dealer who we've managed to blag the diagnostic charge down to £30. I'll let you know the results.

Found it!

I wouldn't rule out a blocked filter totally.... it would depend on your driving, i.e. if its a slow speed town car then the chances are the filter will clog a lot quicker than a car that has a good 'high' speed run each day.

Unfortunately Nige, I haven't got Planet ...... yet anyway

Well fellas I took the car to the local Peugeot dealer and they've told me that the fault lies with the differential pressure sensor and particulate filter overload, but they couldn't be 100% certain. They told me they would replace the diff pressure sensor at a cost of £167 inc vat then re-test. So I said I'll get that done myself and see if that solves the problem.

So it looks like it could be both of the previous mentioned which could cost me a small fortune to repair.

The garage say that the sensor is always reading 4.45volts even when the engine is not running and suspect that this is why I also have a particulate filter fault.

They also informed me that the dipstick is broken and will cost £147.11 to replace, I nearly keeled over and said you pulling my leg. The guy was serious. Ive since looked on the net and seen you can get one from a breakers yard for a couple of quid or new for about a tenner.

Any ideas where's best to buy a diff pressure sensor from fella's.

Thanks for any info.

If you remove your DPF then the sensor is redundant

Well just to update you guys I managed to get the differential pressure sensor changed for £55 a couple of weeks ago and so far everything seems to be fine. Wanted to wait a couple of weeks before I put this post as I didn't want to tempt fate.

Thanks for your input fellas.
