Unhappy Brake load sensing valve linkage seized

My poor 2003 206 1.4HDI has just failed its MOT Luckily nothing too major, wrong colour lights but a siezed brake load sensing valve siezed is a bit of a concern, I have looked around here and google, to find that a generous helping of WD40 and some molegrips may solve the problem. I have done the WD40 bit and will look forward to crawling around the car at the weekend. My question is how much should it move by? Is it a few mm or a couple of cm's?
I am guesing if i have to replace it i will have to blead the brakes?

I also had an advisory (one of many) for the airbag light - apparently an MOT failure from April 2012. What is likely to be the problem, new airbag required? Will PP tell me where the problem is? Can I put an aftermarket steering wheel on to get around this or will the car will still fail the MOT?
Thanks

about a few cms movement you'l see when your there. Pull with moles knock back with hammer, keep on and it'll free up, when its nice and free jobs done No need to bleed brakes simple job. Airbag needs resetting garage can do it £25 light can be put off with pp2000 i think

Thanks for this info, i will be having a good look under the wheel arch on Saturday, do I need to loosen any nuts, bolts or the remove the spring?
It will probably be obvious when I look at this in daylight, but when you say pull with moles, is this outwards in the direction of the wheelarch, or front to back?
Thanks

It will be obvious when you see it. Underneath the car by the back axle It lives a very hard life getting all manner of road crap thrown at it, and becomes seized eventually if not maintained. Its a linkage to a load apportioning valve, it adjusts the valve to correct the brake pressures between front and back when weight is added to the car. When it doesn't get any movement to stop it, the linkage seizes in position. Some preventative maintenance in the way of periodic oiling or greasing will prevent the fault. No need to undo anything just need wd40 sprayed at it and whatever tools,eg hammer, levers, grips to make it move back and forth.
