brake lights permanatly on

hi all
just purchased a v reg 1999 pug 206 glx and its been ok but now, when you switch on the ignition and the lights appear on the dash the brake lights stay on all the time. any quick fix or tips appreciated as i,m rapidly running out of patience with the car as faults appearing all the time one after another

First thing i would do is check the brake light switch

hello where abouts is that located never owned one of these cars before i have found if i take the slack off the pedal the lights go out but as soon as i let go andthe pedal drops a little they come back on

If i remember correctly you will find it under the glove box near the centre console have a feel under there.
