Default 206 HDI Runs Bad When Cold

Car starts without fault but to begin with runs lumpy and eventually cuts out, can start it back up and runs fine when the car is warmed up a bit.

To get an early repair its got to be scanned with pp2000. We can guess but you might go spending time and money on wrong parts. There is pp2000 down your way but might not be too near, have a look on peugeot planet maps to be sure.

Any rough ideas of what it could vaguely be?

Most likely 1, a heater plug failed or 2. if its a 1.4hdi air in the fuel lines. Get a diagnostic check done.

If a glowplug failed it would not start properly, it would hunt and smoke white unburnt diesel.

It's the 2.0 HDI and starts every time.

Seems to have been OK the last couple of days, I'm wondering if it's just due to the sub zero conditions.

Not a clue, I've had it nearly a year and not done anything to it.

It would start properly with a slight roughness. it'd be totally driveable. These common rail engines only need heater plugs for pre/post combustion. ie emissions reasons and easy starting in extreme - temps.
