206 hdi 1.4s air con prob

hi all, recently changed to 206 hdi 1.4s and got issues with air con.
fan runs fine, air con switch lights up but the compressor does not engage.
Is this cause the compressor is knackered? it turns by hand but electric clutch dont engage.
all fuses check out and cant understand whats wrong.
any advice will be much appreciated.

If the a/c has not been used in a while the "o" rings and seals can dry up and you lose your refridgerant,you might find that you just need a regas from an a/c specialist.The compressor won't engage if you have no gas,its a safety issue. once regassed if it the problem,use it in the winter with your temp set to however warm you want it.a/c is not just for cooling and if you go all winter without a few minutes a week you'll turn it on next summer and it won't work again.hope this helps.

thanks for the reply Matt.
took it to the garage today with a collapsed rear wheel bearing and had the aircon checked out at the same time.
spot on Matt lol dirty great hole in the condenser so gonna have to replace that next.
