2000 (W) 206 Gti
95,000 miles Car pulls like a train however occasionally at a constant speed for example 50mph in fifth it will occcasionally stutter. it also can happen at a higher cruising yet steady speed more recently at 70mph in fifth where it cut out for a fraction of a second, no warning lights have ever been illuminated when this has ahppened and could be more of a missfire or similar. I have serviced the car oil, filters and plugs but to no avail it is still happening and im sure it is something fairly simple but what ihave no idea....MAF sensor? Any and all suggestions most welcome. Cheers BM |

Haven't a clue whats wrong with it.
Needs a diagnostic check. If the lad wants to post up the fault codes here i'll have a go at helping him.

Will attempt to get a diagnostic done as its in for its MOT tomorrow morning,
maybe running rough is a little harsh as to be honest car drives spot on with only the minor hicup as previosuly mentioned when on part throttle at a constant slow speed in top gear 40 - 50 mph in top gear is normally when it occurs. harly noticable but you known when it happens. Not so often but a little disconcerting is when it has been driven say on a 100mile journey and it will after about an hour of constant driving blip (immediate power loss for less than half a second) then be "normal again" it is something I can totally live with but it does niggle me if it could be something as simple as a sensor needs cleaning. The only reason I suggested MAF sensor was my old BMW 318iS had an uneven tickover (Pugs is fine) but had the smame but constant syptoms when driving, Diagnostic showed faulty MAF sensor at £97 Dealer part only but cleaned it with electrical contact cleaner cured the issue and sold the car still going strong 20k miles later. Cheers for the help so far BM |
