206 gti ignition fault

wen i turn the key to start car it dosnt spring back once started its all loose i have to turn it back manualy does that mean i need new ignition if i dont turn it back a bit manualy u get noise from starter motor and you cant use stereo or open windows until u turn it back a bit if i was to get another ignition and key does it need to be coded or can i se tht part from my existing key

The switch part should be separate from the barrel, so hopefully just a new switch.
