Hi
Does anybody know if I can run my 206 1.4 HDI on Bio fuel or Veg oil (obviously I would tell customs and pay my tax )

pretty sure not mate the high pressure system doesn't like the thick oil. I think its only the old style deisels that can successfully run on that stuff. But I am open to be corrected.

as above dont use if the system is common rail... but traditional engines can handle it.

should be a reference in your owners manual regarding bio fuel...in mine it states do not use it as its common rail and can rot my fuel lines

I think the only ones which were known to safely work on veggie oil were some 306s from around 1995-97 but had the Bosch fuel pump. And even then it was a 30%-50% mix of oil and diesel.

The official line is 30%, though as Gibbo says, you may get away with more, especially in warmer weather. It's not so much the corrosive effects of Bio, as modern motors are designed to cope with that, but the raised kinematic viscosity. The high pressure system in the HDi's is very sensitive to this, and has been known to fail with as little as 2 litres of veggie added to a full tank. Now, bio isn't as gooey as veggie, but isn't as free flowing as diseasel, and can cause probs.

I'm not 100% sure but the last time I filled up at Morrisons I think they stated that their diesel was a blend of 50% biodiesel.

Its completely unscientific but my performance and MPG went up after stopping using Morrisons fuel (after moving out of an area with a station close by) and going to Shell or Sainsburys.
