Hi folks,
Just a wee question, and I think I already know the answer to this but here goes! Should the thrust bearing turn all the time even when the clutch is disengaged? I'm assuming it shouldn't but mine does. And it's starting to get quite noisy! The clutch otherwise operates fine with a strong but smooth bite around half of the pedal travel and it doesn't slip through. I've tried levering a pinch bar against the lever on the top of the gear box against the battery tray in the clutch release direction and the lever moves around 5 degrees but when I let go of the lever it springs back to its original position. When levered, the thrust bearing stops turning. On this basis, I thought the clutch cable was maybe too tight but on closer inspection I have found that its a self adjusting mechanism and I have fully released the bolt at the pedal and there seems to be a load of slack on the cable. Can anyone shed any light on this? Cheers -Steve
