Hi all,
I'm really hoping someone on here will be able to help, i have a 2002 206 which has now had the same problem twice. The engine management light suddenly comes on while driving and at the same time I get major power loss and the car starts juddering quite badly. It revs like i am driving in too high a gear and is going too cut out/stall even if i change it too a gear which is too low. The first time this happened it seemed to correct itself shortly after while i was still looking for a safe spot to pull over, the second time the symptoms were worse and i had to stop straight away. I checked the oil and water both of which were fine and waited for half an hour, when i started it again it was once again fine and running as normal. Now however it is also not starting well in the mornings, i have to rev it a lot and keep doing so for at least 5/10 mins to get the engine to stay on. Once again the car runs fine once i've done this. I've spoken to my mechanic who has told me problems that are intermitant like this are hard to diagnose and that i should leave it unless it happens again. I have seen a number of posts on here and in different forums reporting the same cutting out/juddering problem but there seems to be no consensus in as too what the problem actually is, and many say going to a dealer to check the error code is a waste of money. As i do a lot of moterway driving (to get to work each day) i'm slightly worried about loosing power in the same way while driving at high speeds, it could easily cause a crash etc. Does anyone have any advice on this? It would be much appreciated! Thanks very much for reading! Jenny |

Hi Jenny
Welcome to the forum. Can you give details as to which engine your 206 has also give your location as it will need a diagnostic and there maybe someone in your area who can help.

Hi Jenny and welcome, I agree with ritchie,i would be thinking that the first thing you should do is get the fault codes read, they should have been stored ready to be read, this way you will at least know where to start. click on the link and see if anyone is near to you and maybe they could help you out. and if you don't have enough posts to message someone just post here and someone else will contact the user of your choice. hope this helps.
