Hi all, my problem is the ignition system is breaking down on my 205.
It seems it would be easier to get blood out of a stone than find a used Marelli distributor for my 205. You know its bad news when several scrapyards laugh and say "there is nothing here that old mate, you'll be lucky" and a couple of cars I found at others had no distributors. However, I have located a Bosch distributor, amplifier, coil ect so could I fit these inplace of my Marelli system or is it not that easy? I can get a new distributor from Peugeot but I can't really justify paying £400+ for a £300 car! Thanks. Last edited by little-red-gem; 12-28-2011 at 11:10 AM. |

Hello,
My distributor is rough in side and one of the springs on the fly weights is slack. I have a new control module coming for the side of it. The vacuum advance diaphram on mine is shot. The fault is ignition based, as the spark stops when it cuts out. There is power to the coil when the car stops, I have replaced the coil just the control module to replace now. That is £40+ so if I could get a good 2nd hand dizzy for £40, I would have a module, vacuum advance unit, housing, pick up ect ect. Thanks. |
