I just bought a second hand Peugeot 107, 06 reg plate. It makes a clunking noise when I brake gently, but only when the car has been drive for about 15 minutes and has been warmed up. I have just had new brakes and discs fitted yet they still make a noise. The garage also cannot find what’s wrong with it.
Does anyone know what could be wrong with it, or how to fix the problem. It would be very much appreciated. |

It is most very not normal at all. The brakes on the 107 take a bit of a prod, but do the job and should make no noises.
Now, it's had new brakes fitted so my guess is something is not tight, or a spacer or pad shim is missing allowing the pads to move in the caliper under braking. However, if the brakes genuinely are ok it could be many things, from worn bottom control arm bushes through to the exhaust moving about. The cat's can split on the older cars and allow the exhaust to move, and make a knocking noise but i think you would've heard the zorst blowing if it were that. Tired engine mounts on high milers can make a knocking noise under braking or acceleration. Generally speaking, the 107 is a tough and simple hombre, so it shouldn't be difficult to track down by a techie from the deeper end of the gene pool.
