It'll certainly make the braking better.
Not sure of the setup on the 106, but if disc brakes are an option on the higher spec models, then can't see any problems. Along with the axle setup, you'll need the discs, calipers, carriers, hubs, possibly brake lines, maybe master cylinder & servo, bias valve (if they have them), so basically you want to find someone breaking one and whip the whole lot off. |

Yes a complete axle from a 106 GTi or saxo VTS are virtually a straight swap, you might have to make some new copper brake lines to the calipers.

Brake lines are the same, but you'd need the handbrake cable + lever from the disc beam car as well.
To be honest I'd stick with the drum and persevere finding a "good" beam. |

Having just replaced the axle on my 206, I was considering trying to convert the back brakes to disc, though I'd suggest you have a read around first.
If the car is not fitted with ABS, it could make breaking worse, as the back end will be more prone to locking up and sliding with the uprated disk brakes. I know on the 206 especially, it can get a bit tail happy under breaking anyway (as i found out when i ended up on top of a hedge ), and can only imagine that if I had disk brakes on the back, it would of been far worse. Not sure what others have to say though. |

It's not worth fitting a disc rear axle. Avoid used axles cos they'll need stripping and rebuilding anyway.
R Mountjoy do fully rebuilt beams, all new bushes and bearings, all powder coated like new and guaranteed for £350. Unless you have the tools, time and know how to rebuild a used beam yourself I'd suggest a Mountjoys job is the most sensible option.
