Question Pug 106 1.1 will not start no spark HELP!!!!

Hi folks... vehicle is 1.1 year 2000 106 independence this is the girlfriends brothers little car. I was told to have a look at it as it wouldn't start. They thought it had run out of petrol. Went over bunged a gallon of juice in it, charged the battery but still wouldn't start, head scratching. In the back of my mind I'm thinking this isn't the main key for the vehicle this is the spare key. Surely it isn't that simple. Girlfriends mum assures me that she has used this key to start the vehicle before so I start looking at other things it could be. So far I have replaced the little ring round the ignition barrel, the relay under ecu, the crank sensor but still no spark. I have tested lead to coil pack with multimeter, no voltage. Please somebody tell me that I wan't right all along and it's because I'm using the spare key. The spare key does have a transponder in it though just to confuse issues?!?!? Fuel pump is priming and petrol is getting to injector rail. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for your help so far. Yes had a feeling it was the key from the start but they recon they have used the spare to start the car before. The problem we have now is that the main key has been misplaced.

Cheapest thing to do is go get the key trained first before changing eveything.

Thanks David we are trying to track down the main key as the key we have for the car doesn't have a lock button so we are unable to reboot the bsi. This car doesn't appear to have central locking and has wind up windows not electric so do you know if the bsi reset thing will still work? Also does anyone know if the spare key should start the vehicle as it does have a transponder in it? Oh and just checked and the fuel doesn't seem to be reaching the plugs. And too late changed a few things already but it didn't take long and only cost £10 from scrappy.

It doesn't have a BSI either just a normal fuse box.
Is the engine light coming on with the ignition, it'll be a orange light with the shape of an engine on it?

Ok, that means the ecu may be alright. The car needs to go on a diagnostic and checked for rpm on turn over next.
