106 quicksilver cuts out -then starts again
Had this 106 (1999) about 3 weeks so not too familiar with it. Its been OK up to now but has just started cutting out after about 5-6 miles. No warning lights or fault codes displayed. After a turning the ignition off and waiting 10-15 seconds it will start again and run OK. I haven't yet tried this continuously yet to see if it recurs every 6 miles but its done it last night and twice today.
Update 11/03/11 - had the idle inlet control off and cleaned it up - replaced and it then went into idling madness at around 4000rpm. Hmmm...... got a replacement aftermarket ICV which was even worse! Ended up with the genuine Peugeot part (Jeez £££££££) but its all ok now
Update13/04/11 - well that lasted about a week and it was cutting out again. Definitely felt like a fuelling problem so the fuel pump was bench tested. Turned out it was running OK on first startup then the pressure dropped after a while. This manifested itself as starving the fuel rail intermittently or after periods of open throttle which on country roads was a bit tricky to diagnose. New pump fitted and been fine for nearly a month now so hopefully.........
