Default 106 Mardi Gras (M Reg 1.5 Diesel) slow pre heat and trailing arm issue

Hi,

Wondering if anyone can give me some pointers or advice, I have very little experience with diesel engines.

My M Reg 106 Mardi Gras can take 20+ seconds to pre heat, I have replaced the glow plugs (thats about the extent of my knowledge with diesels haha) but it is still the same. Any ideas on what to check?

Also, I believe the O/S/R trailing arm is shot (sits low on that side), Its not the shocks as I have checked those and they are fine. I have a Haynes manual and all it says is they have to be changed by a dealer due to specialist tools being required. Does anyone have any experience of changing them, can it be done yourself? I have had previous experience of Haynes saying this sort of thing but it isn't necessarily the case.

Any help, hints tips or advice greatly received.
